Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Countryside Birthday

Hi there!

This is a card I made up yesterday. The truck image makes a nice masculine card which I can always use more of. This is from the Countryside stamp set from Stampin Up and also includes a sentiment from Vintage Labels from SU.

For papers I used gracen red solid (Making Memories), black (SU), solar white (Neenah), and playtimes past jack & jill from Graphic 45. I used black ink Versafine, wheat and red brick from Versamagic. I colored this with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.

The other items I used are ticket punch (SU), square punch (EKS), large labels die (Spellbinders), buttons, brads, linen thread (SU), sanding block to attempt distressing, and ribbon that I did twice to make it wider.

Thank you for looking!

Blessings!

Merry Snowman

Hi there!

I have another Christmas card to show you, this time no pinks! This is a stamp from Serendipity called "Snowman & Birdhouse". I colored this image last month while I was on vacation using my Prismacolor pencils. Finally got around to making it into a card.

The sentiment is from Short & Sweet (SU). The papers used are solar white (Neenah), real red (SU), mat pack earth (DCWV), and typhoon (Bazzills). For ink I used black (VersaFine). Other accessories used are Aleene's paper glaze, crystal snow (Stampendous), diamond stickles, piercer, snowflake punch (Marvy), square punch (EKS), large labels (Spellbinders), floss, weaving fibers, buttons, marker (SU), Prismacolor pencils, and mineral spirits.

Thanks for looking!

Pink Christmas Tree

Hi there!

I have a new Christmas card I made with a stamp set I recently bought used. It's been around a while, but I think it's pretty. I bought this pink embossing powder, and I thought this image is perfect for embossing.

I've been saying I want to do pinks for Christmas, so here you go! Who says Christmas has to be red and green anyway! I guess it doesn't really matter what the colors are, as long as you remember the REAL reason for Christmas!

The picture of this really doesn't do it justice...I need to take a photography class or something!

For stamps I used Scandinavian Season, Short & Sweet from Stampin Up. Papers are solar white (Neenah) and Chablis (Brazzill). I love this pink color! I used versa mark for the images and embossed with party pink embossing powder from Recollections. It matches this paper perfectly. For the other accessories: adhesive pearls, petite petals punch (McGill), modern label punch (SU), classic oval large (Spellbinders), scrollwork embossing folder (Cuttlebug), sponge, and diamond Stickles. It's a good thing I'm detailed!

This is a pretty and fairly quick card to do...I may do a bunch of this for Christmas, and they don't all need to be pink either! Thanks for looking!

Blessings!

Wedding Ring Bearer

Hi Everyone!

Wow, three posts in one day!!

I have a new stamp from Elphine House Australia called "Harry Ring Bearer" by Elisabeth Bell. He's so cute! He reminds me of when my son Cameron was a ring bearer at our babysitter's wedding. He was only 4 at the time. There he was is his little tuxedo holding the pillow with the rings tied on it. He was SO adorable and so proud to be doing his "big job" along with his brother Daniel (who was 5) whose job it was to hold the Bride's train. The 2 of them were so cute and so serious about their job. This stamp totally reminds me of that time.

Here's the outside:

Here's the inside:

In addition to "Harry Ring Bearer" Stamp, I used "Wedding" from American Crafts for the flourish and sentiment. The paper is solar white from Neenah, Eva (Basic Grey), and Ash from Bazzill.

I used black from Versafine for ink and colored with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.

There are lots of accessories used on this, which I will post on my Split Coast Stampers' Gallery. Please click on the link for my gallery if you would like more information.

If you would like to purchase this stamp, or see the other Elisabeth Bell stamps they have, hop over to their website here and see all the adorable stamps they have!

Our Daily Bread Designs - SNTODBD44 & ODBDSLC78

Hi there! I made this card using Scripture Collection #2 from Our Daily Bread Designs. This is a beautiful verse from Psalms...I love the words "dwells" and "rest". How wonderful to dwell and rest in the Lord. There's no place else I would rather be!

The papers I used for this are "Roam" from K & Co., very vanilla and certainly celery from Stampin Up. The ink is dark chocolate from Palette and gingerbread and wheat from Versafine. I will be submitting this to ODBD Challenge of distressing or inking. This is about the most distressing I can do, as I usually don't do it at all. I'll put more of the details in my Split Coast Stampers' Gallery, if you would like more! Thanks for looking! Blessings! Kathy

Ps. Thank you Chris! I've entered this in the ODBD Shining the Light challenge now too!

Belles 'n Whistles challenge

Hi everyone! This is my second card for Belle 'n Whistles as a Guest Designer!!! How exciting is that! This time the challenge is to use your favorite color combo...that would have to be pink and green for me! This cutie pie is called Li'l Miss Poppy that I got from Belles 'n Whistles when I won their challenge last month. She is just SO adorable, I love the way she has her hand on her face.
I wish the picture was a little better with showing the colors, they are so much better in real life. The flowers were made with a new punch I bought, Petite Petals from McGill. I'm having fun making these. They're not as nice as all the beautiful roses and other flowers that are out right now, but I haven't bought much of these yet. I also used my new oval dies from spellbinders that I picked up at Michaels on sale. I've been wanting these for a long time...finally got one set at least! The papers used are Eva by Basic Grey, and rich razzleberry and pear pizzazz by Stampin Up. I love these Eva papers. I colored these with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. Go join the Belles 'n Whistle challenge using any of your Elisabeth Bell stamps or image. Thanks for taking the time to look at my creations! Blessings! Kathy

Thankful Harvest

Hi again!

I'm back with another card, this time for Thanksgiving. I made this card last year, but just couldn't figure out how I wanted to finish it. So it's been sitting in the reject pile for quite a while. It's funny to see my coloring from over a year ago compared to now. I guess I have learned a lot since then. I know I could do better now, but it was too much work to just toss it out...sometimes it's painful to be a "perfectionist"!!!

I used Season of Thanks and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamps from Stampin Up. Papers are chocolate chip, more mustard, old olive, and very vanilla also from SU. Inks used are black (Pallete), wheat (Versamagic), and old olive (SU). If you need additional details, I will be posting them in my SCS Gallery. Thanks for looking!

Blessings!

Elphine House Australia Challenge #6

Hello Everyone!

There's a new challenge starting today at Elphine House Australia! This one is to use leftover scraps on your creation. The design team has come up with some beautiful samples for you to check out which you can find here. Here is my sample using a new stamp called "Laura: Flower Girl" done by Elisabeth Bell!

The front:

The inside:

Such a cute image! I decided to use very soft colors on this. The background paper is my first ever digi paper that I got free on Bearly Mine Design's website which you can find here. I love this paper, so nice that she has it for free! I also used some old scraps from Vintage Rose Punch Out Pack from Colorbok that I have had forever. The image was done on solor white from Neenah and colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. I used my favorite punch Deco Fan from Martha Stewart. I got the white flowers on the front from Michael's wedding supplies section. I love the middle of them which I made out of a jewelry spacer and a brad. Then I drizzled some diamond stickles on them. The "pearls" around the image were done with Liquid Pearls from Ranger.

There are lots of details on this one, which I will completely list when I post this on my Split Coast Stampers' Gallery. Thank you for looking and make sure to join in the fun on Elphine House's Blog. Use any Elisabeth Bell stamp/image and your scraps!!!

Have a wonderful day! Blessings!

Black & White Verse

Hi there!

I wanted to try to make an all white card...this is what I ended up with. Not exactly white on white, but I like the result anyway. I especially like the contrast of the black and white and the touch of burgundy. The flower looks red in the picture, but it's actually a beautiful burgundy color.

The stamp I used is Scripture Collection #2 from Our Daily Bread Designs. This is a beautiful verse reminding us not to be afraid and rely on God to give us what we need.

If you would like more details, I'll include them in my Split Coast Stamper's Gallery.

Thanks for looking!

Popcorn Bear

Hi there!

I have another card today, this time using Popcorn Bear with Flowers from C.C.Designs floral collection.

This is a stamp I bought online from someone in fairly new condition. I LOVE bears and thought this one was really cute. This is one of the first times I colored with an image that didn't have distinct outlines (the bear & duck). I thought it would be hard, but it wasn't at all!

I stamped the image with black ink (versafine) and heat embossed with clear powder. I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits on Neenah's solar white paper. The other papers are from the Grade School Stack from DCWV. Other items used: labels 8 die (Spellbinders), deco fan and frond punches(Martha Stewart). I did the "out of the box" technique on the die cut for the image. You can see how the bear's left ear and the tag extend beyond the die cut.

Thanks for looking!

Pins & Needles - JustRite

Hi Everyone!

I made this card using an image I colored last year, but never finished.

It's just a quick and simple card, but it's okay to do one of those once in a while! The stamp is from JustRite's "Stitched with Love" stamp set. I won this last year from Becca Feeken's blog candy at Amazing Paper Grace. The swirls in the corners are from Stampin Up's "Yummy" stamp set.

The papers are bashful blue, certainly celery, and whisper white from Stampin Up. I used Spellbinder's dies of standard circle large, petite scallops small & large. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.

Thanks for looking!

Blessings!

Belles 'n Whistles Color Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a card I made as a Guest Designer (Woohoo!) for Belles 'n Whitles' Challenge that started this week. So exciting, my first time as a guest designer, which I won for my "Letters to Santa" card. This is a color challenge using red, yellow, and blue. This is what I came up with.

Not exactly the bright primary colors, but still red, yellow, and blue! The stamp I used is "Planting some Love" that I won on the Elisabeth Bell World Challenge blog for my Letters to Santa card. I was able to get 4 new stamps with my gift certificate (plus a couple of $1).

I used K & Co Watercolor papers (love these) and colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. There's lots of other details that I will post on SCS's in my gallery.

Elphine House DT - Cuddle Challenge

Hi there!

I have a new challenge for you from Elphine House Australia. This time it's to use something cuddly on your card or creation. Remember you can use ANY Elisabeth Bell stamp for your entry. Last challenge had only 2 entries!!! Help us get this challenge up off the ground...we know there are lots of you out there that have Elisabeth Bell stamps and Digi's!!! Please come and join us for this new challenge!

My sample for the challenge is using a new stamp from Elphine House called "Daisy Hugging Dolly". For you EB lovers, I'm sure you remember Daisy...so sweet!

I use some of my special papers I've been saving called Bella Rose from Stampin Up. Daisy deserves something special for sure! I also used kiwi kiss (SU), solar white (Neenah), red devil (Bazzills). In addition to "Daisy Hugging Dolly", I used Friendship Blooms (SU), and "Love" (Studio G $1.00) stamps. I stamped the image with black (VersaFine) and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and a little bit of markers (SU).

If you would like more details, see my Split Coast Stamper's Gallery here.

Hope you will join us for the Elphine House Australia Challenge!!!

Sweet Kiki

Hi there!

This image is from a used stamp I bought online. I just thought these were so adorable and wanted to give them a try. This is the first time I've used one of the no nose/mouth images...a little different than what I'm used to. I colored this last week while I was on vacation to test out the shading and colors. I decided it was too cute to not turn it into a card!

I colored this with my Prismacolor pencils, but didn't use mineral spirits this time. I love doing red hair, probably because I am/used to be one! I really liked the way this one came out especially with the green dress.

For stamps, I used Kiki with Ice Cream (C.C.Designs) and the ice cream cone is a $1.00 stamp from Studio G. The papers I used are solor white from Neenah, Hopscotch (K&Co), old olive and peach parfait (SU). For ink, I used black from VersaFine. Accessories used were clear embossing powder, marker, lace, piercer, brads, bow easy, flowers, Labels Four #5 (Spellbinders) paper glaze (Aleene's), and the ribbon I've had for many, many years (says 1989 on it). Hope you enjoy this little one!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings!

Kathy

Letters to Santa

Hi Everyone!

Well,I can't believe it, but my "Letters to Santa" card that I entered in the Belles 'n Whistles challenge also "won"!!! I made the top 3 and have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the next 2 challenges!!! Wow, how awesome is that!!!

In case you missed it, here's the card:

I worked especially hard on this card, and it's so nice to be recognized for something you've created! I told my 10 year old son this morning and he said, "Mom, you're going to be famous!" So cute, he's my biggest fan here at home. Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings!
