Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

JustRite - Thinking of You

Hi there!

I made this card for the latest challenge at JustRite, Challenge #093 - Suddenly Spring!

This is my first time using the Violette Vintage Labels Stamps, they are so pretty and fun to color!  I decide on purples and yellows for colors and colored them with pencils and mineral spirits.   I also added some Buttercup Liquid Pearls to the flower centers and the strips in the background of the stamp.  The sentiment is cut and popped on the main image.

The dies behind the image are from brand new toys I just got in the mail Saturday called Timeless Rectangles from Spellbinders.  I LOVE the lacy look of the outside edges...just gorgeous and fun to layer with!

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Violette Vintage Labels (JustRite)
Paper: Solar White, Natural Whtie (Neenah), So Saffron (SU), The Chateau Lavender Stack (DCWV)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Accessories: Buttercup Liquid Pearls (Ranger), White Silk Ribbon (May Arts), adhesive pearls, Bow-Easy, mineral spirits, Vintage Label & Banner Dies (JustRite), Timeless Rectangles (Spellbinders), Prismacolor Pencils: Olive Green, Kelp Green, Eggshell, Yellow Ochre, Parma Violet, Violet, Dioxazine Purple Hue, Lavender

Along with our spring inspired creation, we are to say what spring means to us. For me, now living is Southern California, it's almost hard to tell when it's spring! After growing up in Boston and living in New Hampshire for many years, I'm still in awe of how beautiful the weather is here. We do have some trees that kind of went dormant for the "winter" and are now full bloom. I love the yellowy green of when they are first blooming! Other than that though, it's hard to tell!

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little inspiration with Heartfelt Creations!

(You can click on the photo for a closer look)

This week I have the second butterfly image from the Butterfly Melody Set.  I used the same color combination of yellow and turquoise as I did before.  I love this combination together, it's so vibrant and cheerful!  I stamped the image twice, partially colored the base and fully colored and fussy cut the second.  Next time, I would do this only to the butterfly, I think it would be prettier that way!  You can see the full instruction for this at the bottom of my post.

I'm submitting this to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #70 - Anything Goes.

Yellow Roses - JustRite Color Challenge

Hi there!

I made this Yellow Roses card for the latest challenge at JustRite to use yellow, grey, charcoal and neutral.

I love yellow roses, but I find it hard to color them and have them look real.  This is what I came up with.  I'm not totally happy with it, but it's not too bad.  I colored this with pencils and mineral spirits and inked the edges a little with yellow chalk ink.

Card recipe:

Stamp: With Sympathy (JustRite)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Pollen (Bazzills), Neutral Cardstock Stack (DCWV)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Banana Bliss (Powder Puff)

ODBD Anniversary Customer Linky Party

Hello friends!! March is a very exciting month for Our Daily Bread Designs! Five years ago this month, Kelley began Our Daily Bread Designs. Now...five years later we want to celebrate with you, our fans and customers, with a 24 hour Linky Party beginning on March 10 at 2 pm EST. In order to participate, however, you must have a blog and use ODBD stamps.

All you have to do is....
1.... put a link to your blog on the linky below
2.... create a card with Our Daily Bread Designs stamps only and...
3. ... post it on your blog on March 10 at 2 pm EST with a link to the ODBD blog so others can see all the participants.

To make it even more fun...we will be selecting 3 random guest designers to be our guest for one month each from those customers/fans who participate in the linky party. If you are interested, please put the letters GDT after your name in the linky. The winners/guest designers will be announced on March 12.

The linky will remain open for sign ups until Thursday, March 7 at 8 pm EST. We would love to have you join us!!!

Hope you can join in the fun!  Here's the link to their blog to take you there!

Blessings!

CottageCutz Birdie in Blossoms

Hi there!

Today I have a new card to show you using CottageCutz Dies.

For my card, I used the bird from the Bluebird Die, the flowers and branch from the Blossom Branch Die, and the frame from the Oval Doily & Frame Die.

I used a piece of designer paper (Secret Garden - Graphic 45) with a pretty bird and flower image and enhanced it with the dies matching the colors. The bird from the Bluebird Die, was cut with white paper and colored with Aegean Blue Chalk Ink and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The beak and feet were inked with Red Brick Chalk Ink. The Blossom Branch was cut with peach cardstock for the flowers and green for the branch. The flowers were shaped with a mat and tool kit, inked with Red BrickChalk Ink, and dotted with Buttercup Liquid Pearls in the center. The branch was cut to piece around the lower corner of the image. The frame from the Oval Doily & Frame was cut with Natural White Cardstock.

I added a bow made with Natural Jute String from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the Bow-Maker. I didn't add a sentiment to this, but a small, short sentiment would be cute on the bottom right or as a tag hanging from the bow.

Here are pictures of the dies I used on this.

CottageCutz has a new release for Februrary called "This 'N That" that has lots of fun dies including envelopes, bags, tags and tabs.  You can see them all here at their store!
