ODBDSLC123 - Stamp Your Own Background

Happy Tuesday!

It's time for a new Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!

This week's challenge:

Stamp your own background on a card or project.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, September 23rd at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, September 23rd at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC123. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge this week...

Since I don't have any background stamps, I created my own using 3 different stamp sets!  Silly me decided I would color the images on white!  This is only 1/2 of what I actually stamped and colored, lol!  What was I thinking?  After I was done, I then embossed it with a snowflake folder.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Dreams, Holiday Ornaments, Luke 2:11 (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Red Devil, Capers (Bazzills)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), VersaMark
Accessories: Fleur de Lis Squares (Spellbinders), Snowflakes #8 Embossing Folder (Sizzix), ribbon, snowflake button (Michaels), distressing tool, adhesive pearls (Want2Scrap), mineral spirits,  heat tool, Old Fashioned Olive Embossing Powder (SU), Prismacolor Pencils: Cool Greys 10%, 70%, Bronze, Kelp Green, Crimson Red, Tuscan Red

Please visit the other designers to see their fabulous creations this week!

    1. Your background might have been a lot of work, but it paid off, it's gorgeous! I love the embossing over it. The beautiful bow and the sentiment look so beautiful mounted on it.

    2. This is beautiful Kathy! I know what you mean about coloring and tossing! It takes a great deal of time to get just the right image! But I must say you did hit this one out of the park... from the colorful background to your choice to emboss... EVERYTHING works together to create a festive card that celebrates our Savior's birth! Wonderfully done... hugs and blessings...

    4. You've made a gorgeous background here. Too bad the extra was probably useless pieces that you cut off and couldn't be made into a second card. Live and learn, right? It turned out so beautifully! I have lost my "mojo" and hope to get it back soon. Thanks for inspiring me and for sharing this amazing creation with is at Word Art Wednesday. You always have something to bless me!!
      Hugs,
