ODBDSLC120 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday!

It's time for a new Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!

This week's challenge:
is a sketch.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, August 26th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, August 26th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC120. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
Here is my take on the challenge this week...

I'm not very experienced with sketches, but I really like this one!  For the main image, I used the wonderful Light of the World set.  I believe this was my very first ODBD stamp set I bought, and I've definitely used it many times.  I love lighthouses and I like that I can make a card masculine or feminine with it!  Masculine can be really hard to find and do!   I stamped the lighthouse image, stamping off the color on scratch paper first to make the image fade in the background, then stamped the Bible verse over it.  I love these Little Black Dress papers by Basic Grey, just so classy.  I finished it off with some bling and ribbons and a rose.

For all ingredients used:

StampLight of the World (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Little Black Dress (Basic Grey), Black (SU), cream
Ink: Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia (VersaFine), Midnight Confession, Amaretto (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Standard Circles Large, Small Petite Scallops (Spellbinders), Square Punch (SU), sponge, flower (RAK from Sabrina), trim (?), adhesive pearls (Recollections & Want-2-Scrap), ribbon (Offray), rhinestone flourish (Recollections)

  • Linda Lucas (Guest Designer)

  • I'm submitting this to the latest Word Art Wednesday Challenge #41 to use uplifting sentiments or Scripture or use a Mother Teresa quote they provided.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

    Blessings!
