Botanical Rose Bouquet - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

The new Butterfly Medley Collection from Heartfelt Creations is now available!

Are you longing for springtime...dreaming of sunny hours spent in a lavish flower garden where butterflies flit lazily from blossom to blossom? Heartfelt Creations invites you to revel in the beauty of springtime with the release of the Butterfly Medley Collection of stamps, dies, and papers. This uplifting collection is bursting with bountiful botanical roses and a kaleidoscope of fanciful butterflies. Soft shades of pastel peach, lilac, sage, lemon, teal and pink are the perfect counterpoint for the bleak, grey days of mid-winter. Beautifully landscaped backgrounds include pastel plaids, cheery polka-dots, flowing script, classic stripes, elegant flourishes, seed packets, garden themed sentiments and images. Six hand drawn stamp sets featuring botanical roses and butterflies can be paired with two sets of dies, allowing you to stamp and die cut a host of embellishments with a single pass through your die cutting machine. You'll dream in beauty, plant seeds of encouragement and reap a harvest of creativity when you design with the Butterfly Medley Collection from Heartfelt Creations.

What a beautiful collection of butterflies and flowers to play with in this collection!  I love these stamps and matching dies that have multiple pieces to them!  Makes things go so much faster when creating!

For my card this week I used the Botanical Rose Bouquet Set for the main image.  I added additional flowers and leaves from the Botanical Rose Set and a butterfly from the Butterfly Medley Set.  The images were colored with pencils and mineral spirits, although I never did get the color intensity I wanted.  It's a little more muted than I wanted, oh well!  I did just purchase some Polychromos Pencils, so I'm hoping to improve my coloring a little once I learn how to use them!

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful projects the designers have for you this week!  So many talented ladies on the design team!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #170 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

Blessings!

Kathy

Instructions: Make card base measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with Danford Iris card stock. Cut mat with white measuring 4 1/16" x 5 5/16" and set aside. Cut card front (pictured) from designer paper, trim to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8", die cut center using Classic Ovals Large and set aside.

Stamp Botanical Rose Bouquet image on Solar White with Onyx Black Ink and color with pencils and mineral spirits using paper stumps. Place card front over colored image (so image is on lower left) and lightly pencil area on image that will need to be fussy cut in order to extend over the top of the card front. (This is similar to the "outside the box" technique shown here ( http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/outoftheboxwithnestabilities/ ). Trim image so that it fits nicely under and partially over the card front as pictured, then tape down on back of mat. Add image/card front to white mat and add this to card base with pop dots.

On Solar White with Onyx Black stamp leaves and flowers from the Botanical Rose Set and butterflies from the Butterfly Medley Set. Color 2 leaves, 2 smaller flowers and 1 small butterfly and cut with matching dies. Spray back of flowers lightly with water and shape with mat and tool kit. Spray back of leaves lightly with water and shape with fingers. Shape butterfly wings by rolling them over a pencil and then pressing pencil down center over mat. Make a multi-loop twine bow with Bow-Easy Tool and add as pictured using glue dots. Glue leaves and flowers to image as pictured. Add Lemon Chiffon Prills to flower centers using Art Institute Glue. Add butterfly to bow center using glue dots. Brush Aleenes Paper Glaze on flowers and butterfly as desired and sprinkle with Shell White Glitter.
