Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Greeting Chimes

Hi everyone!

I'm back with my second Design Team card for Elphine House Autralia called 'Greeting Chimes'. This is another adorable image by Elisabeth Bell. This stamp is now available at Elphine H. A. which you can see by clicking the the purple image on the left sidebar.

I did this one in blues, but I can totally see this for a Christmas card! This is the first time ever I did a 6"x6" card. Amazing how a different size can give you a learning curve, but I realized I just needed to add more "stuff"!

The reason I did this one in blues is because of the pattern paper that I really wanted to use. I guess I always start with some sort of 'reasoning' for what I want make! The other reason for the blue was the fiber bow I made to go with the paper early on. The bow is made out of a pearl cotton fiber in a beautiful blue. This is a fiber I had leftover in my weaving stash from when is use to do weaving. I just loved the way the bow came out and the brightness of the color and I was determined to include it.

The pattern paper is from Watercolor Bouquet (K & Co). The other papers are whisper white (SU), palo verde (Bazzills), deep ocean blue (ColorMates). The word stamp is teeny tiny wishes from SU. I colored this with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and added a little detail with markers. I also used a stylus on the plant pot to create lines and also on the bush giving it tiny lines. This is the first time I did this technique which was easy and fun and I liked the way it came out!

If you need any additional details, please see my Split Coast Stampers gallery by clicking the link on the left sidebar! Thanks for looking!

Blessings!

Kathy
