Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Yellow Enchanted Mum

Happy Wednesday!

I have a new card for you today using Heartfelt Creations' Enchanted Mum Collection!

The flower is from the Enchanted Mum Bouquet Set that I stamped and die cut twice and partially glued together. I love that the image has a matching die! No fussy cutting on this one! I also added some dragonflies using the Enchanted Dragonflies Set and matching die. The green and yellow "frame" is a card panel from the Enchanted Mum Paper Collection that I trimmed down and die cut the center.

The images were stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. Coloring of these was done with chalk inks and make-up applicators. I used the same method on these that I did in the tutorial here. To finish the card I added some Heart of Gold Prills to the flower center and a little Diamond Stickles here and there to the flower, leaf centers and dragonflies.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see what the designers have for you this week! Emma Lou also has a new video for you here using the Enchanted Mum Collection! She make things look so easy!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday #202 - Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Thanks for stopping by today to visit! I hope I leave you with a little inspiration!

Blessings!

Kathy

Instructions: Card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Cut yellow cardstock 4 1/4" x 11", score at 5 1/2" and fold to make a top fold card base. Cut white cardstock 4 1/16" x 5 5/16" and emboss with folder. Add mat to card base using Scotch Mounting Tape. Cut card front from designer paper and trim outside edges. Die cut center image using Medium Rounded Rectangle Die from Cut Mat Create 1B Set. Ink edges with Peeled Paint Ink and add to white mat using pieces of Scotch Mounting Tape.

Stamp dragonflies once and flower image twice on Natural White with VersaMark and heat emboss from underneath using Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. Color images with chalk inks using make-up applicators. Die cut with matching dies. Glue 2 flower images together glueing only the flower and leaf centers. Once dry, curl up flower and leaf edges slightly with fingers. To shape dragonflies, spritz backs lightly with water, rolled wings over curler tool (Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit), turn over and press down center of the bodies over the mat using the curler tool. Glue (center bodies only) in place as pictured using Art Institute Glue.

Add Heart of Gold Prills sparingly to flower center using Art Institute Glue. Add Diamond Stickles to dragonflies, flower and leaves as desired. Make multi-loop bow with Bow-Easy Tool and add as pictured using glue dots. Add adhesive pearl to bow center using glue dots.

  3. Kathy, There are so many things I like on this card. The embossed border and the frames leading to that lovely airy bloom, the yellow bow with a pearl and my favorite the wee dragonflies.
