Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Kathy

Frosty Ornament - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have an ornament I made with the new Frosty Blanket Collection.

This time I used some of the blue designer papers and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I love the the pretty contrast of the blue and white and decided to make the flowers the same way.  So simple to make these, and so pretty!

I used recycled cardboard packaging inbetween the papers for the ornament to give it some stability.  Here's a picture of the back.

I'm not sure I used the right paper for the back of it to show the sentiment, but it's such pretty paper!    I love the flowers on this with the blue designer paper and the white embossing, so simple to do and it comes out very pretty!

Please visit the Heartfelt Creations' Blog for more inspiration from the Design Team this week!

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday #43
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #154 - use punches, dies, or shapes

Blessings!

Here is my take on the challenge this week...

I used faux stitching on my card as I'm not too fond of sewing machines, lol!  I just pierced holes all around the edge of the mat and used a marker to connect the holes.  This beautiful image is from the Christmas Door Set, another set I've been wanting to get!  This is my first creation using Flower Soft so be kind to me as I'm a little new at this!  At first I didn't have enough of it, now there's a little too much!  Oh well, I'll keep practicing at it!

For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Christmas Door (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Yuletide Designer Mat Pad (K & Co), Real Red (Stampin' Up!), Capers (Bazzills)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Accessories: Vintage Christmas Flower Soft, Flower Soft High Tack Glue, distressing tool, piercer & mat, Burgundy Micron Pen, rhinestones (Studio 18), adhesive pearls (Want-2-Scrap), red fiber (my stash), ribbon (Jo-Ann's), rhinestone flower (Michaels), Aleene's Paper Glaze, Always Artichoke & Real Red Markers (SU), mineral spirits, Prismacolor Pencils: Black, Metalic Silver, Light Umber, Chocolate, Dark Brown, Crimson Red

    Heartfelt Creations - Holiday Mail

    Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a Christmas card to show you using the new Ornamental Light Collection!

The mailbox image is from the Holiday Mail Set and the sentiment is from the Yuletide Sentiments Set.  I added poinsettia flowers using the Petite Poinsettia set and matching dies. Everything is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits...my favorite thing to do!  I used the colors in the new designer papers for my color palette.  I didn't use the designer paper on the card, but it matches altered items made with it as a gift beautifully!  The bird and mailbox on the image match the dies from the Garden Romance Dies which I think is really neat, only I forgot that I wanted to die cut the bird to pop it out!

I finally purchased the Romantic Rectangles Dies that I've been wanting since I saw them!  These are so beautiful all by themselves!

There is lots of gorgeous inspiration on the Heartfelt Creations Blog from the designers!  Please stop by and have a look!

I'm submitting this to the latest Word Art Wednesday Challenge #42.

    Blessings!

Here is my take on the challenge this week...

I'm not very experienced with sketches, but I really like this one!  For the main image, I used the wonderful Light of the World set.  I believe this was my very first ODBD stamp set I bought, and I've definitely used it many times.  I love lighthouses and I like that I can make a card masculine or feminine with it!  Masculine can be really hard to find and do!   I stamped the lighthouse image, stamping off the color on scratch paper first to make the image fade in the background, then stamped the Bible verse over it.  I love these Little Black Dress papers by Basic Grey, just so classy.  I finished it off with some bling and ribbons and a rose.

    For all ingredients used:

StampLight of the World (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Little Black Dress (Basic Grey), Black (SU), cream
Ink: Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia (VersaFine), Midnight Confession, Amaretto (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Standard Circles Large, Small Petite Scallops (Spellbinders), Square Punch (SU), sponge, flower (RAK from Sabrina), trim (?), adhesive pearls (Recollections & Want-2-Scrap), ribbon (Offray), rhinestone flourish (Recollections)

    Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday

    Happy Wednesday!

I have a couple of cards to show you today using Heartfelt Creations Stamps.  The first is called "Pumpkin Harvest Bounty" using stamps from the new July Release "Classic Editions Collections".

I combined a few of the stamp images together using masking, die cutting, and fussy cutting to create a little bounty scene.  It's fun to have all these images and designer papers coordinate together.  It makes designing a lot easier!

My second card is called "Special Puppy".

This is an older Heartfelt Creations stamp that I got recently.  I had cocker spaniels growing up that looked just like this sweetie pie and I just had to get the stamp!  I think it turned out pretty cute!

You can click on the pictures to see them better and all the supplies and instructions are at the bottom of the post.  Make sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see all the designers fabulous creations this week!

I'm also entering these in the following challenges:

Stampin' Sisters in Christ - Challenge #152 - creations that make you think of home, which both of these do.
Word Art Wednesday Challenge #41 - use scriture or uplifting words.

    Blessings!

Hot Summer Day - Elphine House Australia

    Hi there!

It's time for a new challenge at Elphine House Australia! This time the challenge is to make a card or project that reminds you of a hot summer day!  All you need to do is create a card or project using any Elisabeth Bell stamp from any company and make sure to follow the theme.  The winner will be chosen randomly and will recieve 2 stamps from EHA. You have a whole month to enter the challenge, as we are doing monthly challenges for the summer.

Here is my take on the challenge...

This is what I think of on a hot summer day...ICE CREAM!!!  The background paper on the side of this center-step card have ice cream cones and milk shakes...YUM!  This little girl is a new stamp from Elphine House Australia called "Emma's Gift of Love".  She's so sweet, as are all of Elisabeth Bell's images.  I love the pastel colors of these Nana's Kitchen Designer Papers for a little girl.  I couldn't find a color combo I liked for the dotted dress, so I decided to use Diamond Stickles.

Here are some more pictures showing the side view, inside, and a close-up of the image.

    For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Emma's Gift of Love (Elphine House Australia)Inspire Me Sentiment (inside the card - Heartfelt Creations)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Nana's Kitchen (DCWV), Bashful Blue (SU)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Pink Cheeks (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Labels 20 (Spellbinders), Diamond Stickles (Ranger), White Seam Binding (Really Reasonable Ribbon), sponge, satin bow (Offray), flower (RAK from Sabrina), adhesive pearls (Recollections), pearl heart (Want-2-Scrap), mineral spirits, Prismacolor Pencils

That's it for now!  Hope you can join in the challenge this month!

If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC119. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge this week...

My sponging is a little subtle, but I actually used it in a couple of places.  I used it on the edges of the flower petals to give them more depth and also on the edges of the mat.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the flower is fussy cut and layered.  You can click on the picture for a better view if you would like.

I've been wanting this Luke 2:11 set for a while now and finally got it...so pretty!  I love images that fit into a corner that you can use with sentiments.  Here's a picture of the set so you can see how I put 2 of the stamps together.

There's also 2 other sentiments you can use with the flower image.  Really pretty fonts on this set too!

    For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Luke 2:11 (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Real Red (SU)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Midnight Confession (Powder Puffs), Real Red (SU)

I think this one is SO cut!  The picture isn't the greatest, the greens are much brighter in real life.  The little trees I added were fussy cut from the designer paper and I added some glitter to them.  The sketch is from the Split Coast Stampers' SC396 today.

    The second is Acorn Chucky...

Don't you love those teeth?  Too cute!  I made the little sign using 2 of the Large Labels smallest die and glueing them together with a toothpick inbetween.

If you are interested in these stamps, you can contact Kelley at Our Daily Bread Designs for them.

I'm also submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #39

Heartfelt Creations - Raspberry Swirl & Fall Notepad

    Hi there!

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for some Heartfelt Creations' inspiration!  Today I have 2 projects for you using the Heartfelt Creations Classic Editions Collection released this month.  The first is a card I call "Raspberry Swirl".

I made this using the Ornamental Raspberries Set and Classic Editions Paper Collection.  I love this stamp from the set and all the swirls.  I thought it looked pretty with this Labels 20 die cut.  (Note: you can click on the photo to see this up close.  The complete details are listed at the bottom of the post.)

The second is a decorated junior notepad cover I call "Fall Notepad".

Here's a picture of the inside...

These make beautiful gifts, just add a pen and put in a clear cello bag with schreddies and a topper.  For the Fall Notepad I used the Antique Truck Set, Pumpkin Harvest Set, Classic Editions Set, and the Classic Editions Paper Collection.  The front image on this is one of the 3" x 4" images included on one of the designer papers that I added some stamped and die cut images to.  These 3" x 4" panels are AWESOME to use as a base when creating your cards or tags!  (Note: you can click on the photo to see this up close. The complete details are listed at the bottom of the post.)

For more inspiration, please visit the Heartfelt Creation's Blog here to see what the other designers have created!

Next week, it's time for the August Release!!!  Make sure to check back next Wednesday to see the gorgeous new collection!!!

     Blessings!

    Kathy
