Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Festive Candlelight - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  I have another Christmas card for you this week, this time using the Festive Candlelight Set!

I stamped the image on white card stock and colored it with pencils and mineral spirits.  I stamped an extra image, colored only the flower and fussy cut it to add a little depth to the image.  I die cut the image using Labels 28 and die cut a mat from the designer papers using Decorative Labels 28. Here's a little close up of the image for you.

For the background mat, I used the beautiful Festive Christmas papers making sure to have the flowers on the papers in 2 of the corners.  To finish the card I used ribbons and adhesive pearls.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see the beautiful creations by the designers this week!

Ornate Poinsettia - CottageCutz

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry to say that today is my last project for The Scrapping Cottage as I have decided to step down from the design team.  I have been working part time (paid work!) from home doing administrative work the past few months and need to reduce my DT commitments for now.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with these beautiful CottageCutz Dies and these awesome ladies the past couple of years!

For my last project, I have a  Christmas card using the Ornate Poinsettia CottageCutz Die from The Scrapping Cottage.

This is a fairly simple card to put together!  I used a red card base with a white mat that I partially embossed and added a little sentiment and some ribbon.  I cut the Ornate Poinsettia with the red and green card stock, trimmed the flowers from the red and glued them on top of the green.  I then just added some Buttercup Liquid Pearls, snowflake button and a bow with a button on top.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration for Christmas cards this year!

This is the die I used:

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Short & Sweet (SU)
Paper: White (Recollections), Cherry Cobbler (SU), Rain Forest (Bazzills)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Accessories: Snowflakes #8 Embossing Folder (Sizzix), Bow-Easy Tool, ribbon, button, floss (Michaels), Buttercup Liquid Pearls (Ranger)

I'm submitting this to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #146 - Anything Goes.

Merry Christmas - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little inspiration from Heartfelt Creations!  This week I have another Christmas card for you using the Festive Christmas Collection released last week!

For my card, I used this pretty poinsettia border image from the Festive Candlelight Set and colored it with pencils and mineral spirits.  The flower centers are dotted with Buttercup Liquid Pearls.  I then trimmed down the image and matted it with Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The background mat is one of the beautiful designer papers from the collection that I matted with white and then added it to a Cherry Cobbler card base.  The “Merry Christmas” ticket is also from the designer paper that I cut using the Luggage and Tags Die.

Make sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week!

Rugged Baby Boy Clothes - CottageCutz

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a cute little boy card for you using the Rugged Baby Boy Clothes CottageCutz Die from The Scrapping Cottage!

I cut the jeans part of the die using a dark blue card stock and used a bright green plaid designer paper for the shirts.  I also cute the pocket and belt of the jeans with the green plaid, trimmed them and glued them to the jeans.  I love these two colors together against the white.  It's so cheery looking and cute for a boy!

The card base is the same dark blue as the jeans with a bright green mat and then a white mat that I embossed and stamped with a sentiment.  I embellished the card with some blue ribbon, baby rick rack, jute twine and heart buttons all in matching colors.

This is the CottageCutz Die I used:

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Warm Words (SU)
Paper: White (Recollections), Nana's Nursery Baby Boy - DCWV), Chipped Saphire Distressed, BM Wizard (Coredinations)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Green with Envy, Blue Moon (PowderPuffs - Quick Quotes)
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder (SU), blue ribbon (Offray), green Baby Rick Rack (Wrights), Bow-Easy Tool, Royal Blue Jute String (Really Reasonable Ribbon)

Festive Christmas Collection - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for the new release for August, the Festive Christmas Collection!

The 2014 Festive Christmas Collection has JUST RELEASED. Warm shining candles, cozy bethlehem scenes, script ornaments and doves as elegant and peaceful as a snowy Christmas evening capture the elegance, festivity and real meaning that Christmas is about. But the best thing of it all is that there’s something for everyone in this collection. There are limited quantities available!! Get the Festive Christmas Collection here: http://www.heartfeltcreations.us/product-list?secondary=158.

Christmas is a couple of months away, but now is the time to start preparing for the festive seasons! Sometimes the best thing to do for someone to show them how much you care is simply create something beautiful for them.

The designer papers for the collection are the traditional red and green, but I decided on something a little different for this week...pink and green!

I used Natural White paper and heat embossed the images with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel.  I then colored the images with inks and make up applicators.  This is the same look I've done a few times lately with blues and greens.  I love how it comes out and it's a lot faster to color than pencils.  Here's another angle of the card to help you see it a little better.  You can also click on the photo for a closer look.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week using the new collection!  Emma Lou also has a new video for you showing you a couple of fun techniques.

In case you missed my last post, HC is also doing a Design Team Call for new designers and voting for the current designers that you would like to continue till August 29th.  (Read more about it here.)  As I had said in my post, I'm not included in the voting this time as I'm now considered a Contributing Designer.  For the past few months I have been working for HC behind the scenes, in addition to designing, and will continue to design for them and be excluded from the voting.  I'm so thrilled and relieved!!!  The voting can be a little bit stressful for sure!

Heartfelt Creations - Design Team Call & Voting

Hi there everyone!

Over at Heartfelt Creations they are having a Design Team Call for the upcoming term!  If you are interested in trying out, be sure to check out all the information here and here on their blog!  So much fun to work with these gorgeous stamps, dies and designer papers!  They are also a wonderful company to work for!

Heartfelt Creations is also having everyone vote for their favorite top 5 designers that you would like to see continue to design for them the next term!  You can see more about it on their blog here or see here to vote!

You will notice that I'm not listed in the designers to vote for, but that's a good thing!!!  I have been a designer for HC for 2 1/2 years and LOVE what I do!  Since this past January, I have been contributing in other areas for them behind the scenes.  I am now considered a Contributing Designer and will not be part of the voting process!  So wonderful for me not to go through the voting!  I would love it though if you would all take a few minutes to vote for the ladies and pick your top 5!  They are an amazingly talented group of ladies and would appreciate your votes!

Have a wonderful day!

Blessings!

Kathy

Vines & Blooms Thank You - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday everyone!

It's that time of the week where I get to share some Heartfelt Creations with you!  This week I have a card made using the new Mat Cut Create Collection!

Even though this collection was designed for scrapbooking, it works really well for cards and altered art too!

The flower image is from the Vines and Blooms Set which I colored with pencils and mineral spirits. I didn't like the way they looked with just purple on the petals, so I added a little white gel pen to them.  I added adhesive pearls, some Diamond Stickles, and White Opal Liquid Pearls to the flower centers.

The sentiment is from the Summer Glory Set that I stamped with the image.  I then used the Cut Mat Create Dies to die cut the image and then I mat for it with the purple designer paper from the collection.

I created a narrow mat under the image to go across the card using more of the designer paper and green card stock.  A bow and more pearls were added to complete the card.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the talented designers!

Baby Hippo - CottageCutz

Happy Saturday!

It's time for me to share a little inspiration using a couple of the fun CottageCutz Dies from The Scrapping Cottage!  This time I'm using Baby Hippo from the new Baby Release and Round Mini Balloons Dies!

Isn't this little guy too cute?  I love the little teeth sticking out!  Here's a little close up for you!

The card base is made with Going Gray card stock.  The white mat was stamped with the sentiment, I then added the blue designer paper that was embossed with a folder to the top portion and then some repurposed ribbon across.  The Baby Hippo and balloons were cut using white, plum, and Going Gray card stocks and assembled together inking the edges of the hippo with Gray Flannel Ink.  I used a black marker and white gel pen for the eyes.  All the pieces were added using pop dots. I then added buttons and fiber bows.

These are the dies I used:

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Pun Fun (SU)
Paper: White, Fashionably Chic (Recollections), Going Gray (SU), plum (DCWV Stack)
Ink:  Onyx Black (VersaFine), Gray Flannel (Memento)
Accessories: Fibers, buttons, recycled twill ribbon, Bow-Easy, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (SU), black marker, white gel pen, pop dots, glue dots.
