Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

I really love the purple and brown color combo on this!  I colored this with pencils and mineral spirits and added some microbeads to the flower centers.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  This week I have another card using the beautiful Sweet Juliet Collection!

This image is from the Beautiful Juliet Set.  Such a pretty and delicate image!  I colored this with my pencils and mineral spirits and add a little pencil shading on 3 of the letters.  With the image being more tall and slender, I used the Labels 4 and 8 Die shapes to compliment it.

CottageCutz - Witchy Treats

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have little Halloween treat bags I made using CottageCutz Large Confectionery Bag that I decorated with a new die from the Halloween Release called Fancy Witch Shoe.  These bags are perfect for the mini treats you give out for Halloween!  Wouldn't these be cute for children to give to their classmates?

I kept these real simple so it would be easy to make a bunch.  I used regular cardstock to die cut the bags, stamped them with a sentiment, and assembled them with scor-tape.  I then decorated them with the Fancy Witch Shoe die cut in black cardstock, mini black rick rack, and a bow.  To make the gluing easier, I used my Xyron Machine to glue the shoes to the bags.

Here's a little close up of the purple treat bag that has a mini Twix bar in it.

Here are the dies I used:

There's lots of different ways you can decorate these! I hope this gives you a little inspiration for Halloween!   Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings!

Heartfelt Creations - Sweet Juliet Heart Box

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a little inspiration from Heartfelt Creations!  This week I have a mini paper mache heart box that I decorated using the new Sweet Juliet Collection of papers and dies.

Here's another view...

and another view from the side...

This box was super easy to decorate and makes a really cute gift box!  I fully intended to make a little notecard to go with this, but moving this past month has totally taken away any sense of normalcy in my craft room and I just plain forgot!  The good news is I now have a real craft room!  It has a door and everything!  I've been very busy unpacking everything and putting together storage cubes to organize everything, but it's almost done.  I can't wait to sit down and actually start creating again!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to check out all the beautiful creations by the designers this week!  Also, voting for the new designers ends on the 18th.  If you haven't voted yet, here is the link for it.  I would love to be able to continue on the design team the next 6 months, but I can only stay on the team if I have enough votes!

I'm submitting this to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #102 - Anything Goes.

Blessings!

CottageCutz - Boo!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have a cute Halloween card using 3 new Fall CottageCutz Dies.  From the Halloween Release I use Scarecrow Pumpkin and Spooky Ironwork Sign, and from the Harvest Release I used Harvest Fall Corner Dies!

Aren't these too cute?

I used a bunch of different colored cardstock (mostly scraps) and ink for this.  I shaped some of the pieces and inked in some shading and shadows.  The background is a piece of Iced Cocoa Coredinations Cardstock that is embossed with Triad Leaves Embossing Folder.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but the card base is black.   Here's a close-up of the Scarecrow Pumpkin with Harvest Fall Corner.

Here's a close-up of the Spooky Ironwork Sign.  I used a black marker to write "BOO!" on it.

These are the dies I used on this.

Heartfelt Creations - Sweet Juliet Collection

Happy Wednesday everyone!

It's time for the new October Release from Heartfelt Creations!

We are pleased to introduce the Sweet Juliet Collection. This collection is inspired by the beauty of ancient rooms locked away and laden with antique treasures. These rooms are filled with yellow candlelight and dusty vases. Crinkly letters lay scattered around, turning crisp and fading more every day. A postcard lays covered in thick dust, forgotten in a dark corner. Wildflowers lay around, as crisp and crinkled as the beautiful wallpapers. Using these detailed floral and typographical stamps, complemented by black, gold and burgundy papers will enable you to create an outstanding classical creation.
Leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog by October 15th and you will be eligible to win the entire collection valued at $150.

For my first creation with this new collection, I created a get well card.

Instead of color the flowers on these images, I used Flower Soft to make the flowers come alive!  The Heather Flower Soft of burgundies and greens goes beautifully with this new Antiquity Paper Collection that I used for the mat on this!   It also made it easy to put this card together!

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the gorgeous creations this week and to leave a comment for a chance to win the entire collection!

Blessings!

Kathy

Heartfelt Creations - Blessed Christmas & Cream Poinsettia Ornament

Happy Wednesday again!

This is my second post for today, so if you are looking for my CottageCutz "Dear Santa" post please scroll down to the next post!

It's inspiration time from Heartfelt Creations!  Today I have a Christmas card and ornament using the 2 beautiful new Christmas collections!

For my card, I used the Banner & Tree Die for the tree and added cream Christmas Poinsettias that were heat embossed and inked to give an aged look.  The circle sentiment is heat embossed with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel and also inked.  Behind it is the next size up flower cut in half.  The blue designer paper is from the Christmas Card Paper Collection.  I heat embossed the flower flourish from the Peaceful Night Set on the blue top corner and also 3 times on the bottom cream mat.  If you click on the photo, you can get a better look at the embossing.

Here's a close up of the sentiment.

The ornament is made with Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament 2010 Die, cut twice with the same blue designer paper.  The flower is made with the remaining flower pieces from the card (plus an extra on the bow).  Underneath the flower I have a heat embossed flower wreath image from the Love at Christmas Set that I fussy cut.

Here is the back of the ornament which I left plain.

Hope this gives you a little inspiration today!  Please visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations this week by the designers!

CottageCutz Dear Santa

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I have a card using the Homemade Christmas Gift Set!  This time I'm using the deer die cut for my main image...so cute!

Also from the set, I included one of the bows and "Dear Santa" die cuts using red cardstock and one of the setiment stamps.  On the top left corner, is a little piece of the Elegant Flurry Snowflake Die from the Winter Wonderland Release cut with white cardstock...what a stunning die this is!

Here's a little close up of the deer scene for you.

To make my card, I cut the deer die with white, green, grey, kraft, and red using little pieces/scraps.  The deer and wood post are made with kraft cardstock and shaded with Jumbo Java Ink.  I added the hooves with black cardstock and used a black marker for the eyes and spots.  The mailbox is grey cardstock shaded with black ink and a red flag.  The wreath is green and red cardstock dotted with a white gel pen.  The letter and snow are white cardstock shaded with Iced Blue Ink and a red stamp for the letter.

This cute little scene is popped on a blue Christmas designer paper piece that is stamped with the sentiment using black ink.  I glue this piece on a white mat embossed with a snowflake folder and popped it all on a red cardbase.  To finish the card, I added a bow and "Dear Santa" die cut both in red.

Here are the dies I used for this.

Card recipe:

CottageCutz Dies: Homemade Christmas Gift Set, Elegant Flurry Snowflake
Stamp: Homemade Christmas Gift Set
Paper: White, green, grey, kraft (Recollections), Ruby Slipper (Bazzills), Visions of Christmas (K&Co)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Real Red (SU), Jumbo Java, Aegean Blue (VersaMagic), Ice Blue (ColorBox)
Accessories: Snowflake #8 Embossing Folder (Sizzix), adhesive pearls, white gel pen
