Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

With You Always Easel Card - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  Today I have an easel card using more of the Arianna Blooms Collection released last week!

I used one of the 6" x 6" designer papers for the mat on the front, so it is a larger card than I normally do, 6 3/8" square when closed.  In order to make it into an easel card, I had to used 12" x 12" card stock and add an extra piece on the inside to extend it.  (Full instructions are at the bottom on my post.)

Here's a picture of the front only.

The main image, hummingbird and flowers were all colored with pencils and mineral spirits.  Here's a close up for you.

Here's a picture of the card opened flat.

And a picture of the inside only.  The panel across the bottom is raised up with pop dots to keep the card open as an easel.  The vine image is stamped directly on the panel from the designer paper and color with pencils and mineral spirits.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see what the designers have created for you!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Instructions: Card measures 6 3/8" square.  Make easel card base with More Mustard using this tutorial as a guide with the following measurements: Cut 1 each - 6 3/8" x 12", 6 3/8" x 6 3/8" and 6 3/8" x 1 1/4". Score the 6 3/8" x 12" piece at 6 3/8" and 3 3/16" and fold creases. Adhere the 6 3/8" x 6 3/8" piece to the half fold of the 6 3/8" x 12" piece, then adhere 6 3/8" x 1 1/4" piece to the inside bottom to extend the base inside to be 6 3/8" square. Cut dark green designer paper (dp) measuring 6 3/16" square, ink edges with Hint of Pesto and adhere to card front. Cut 6" x 6" dp piece (pictured), stamp "I Will Be With You Always" in black ink on lower right and ink edges with Banana Bliss

Stamp Arianna Blooms Bouquet image on Solar White with Onyx Black and color with pencils or as desired. Die cut image with Labels 28 using the out of the box technique seen here. Die cut dark green dp with Decorative Labels 28 and add image with pop dots. Add this to card as shown using pop dots. Stamp flowers on Solar White with Onyx Black, die cut with matching die, color with pencils and ink edges with Rhubarb Stalk. Shape with mat and tool kit and assemble one of each size together to form a flower and set aside the other small flower for the bow center. Using dark green dp and the Arianna Lace Die, die cut 3 flourishing vines and 1 decorative swirl. Glue to card as shown in picture. With white card stock, die cut 1 of the smaller lace flowers and cut apart the petals using only 5 of the petals. Arrange on card as pictured with the triple flower on top. Add twine bow over decorative swirl on top left, then add the single small flower on top.

Stamp hummingbird image on Solar White with Onyx Black, color hummingbird only and fussy cut.  Add to image as shown using pop dots. Add Heart of Gold Prills to flower centers using Art Institute Glue - Dries Clear. When dry, add Diamond Stickles around Prills. Dot flower stamens on dp with Buttercup Liquid Pearls.

Inside: From dp, cut yellow rectangle piece with green edging and trim off sides to that it measures 6 3/8". Stamp vine image on it with Onyx Black and color with pencils. Ink edges with Banana Bliss. Cut the lower right 12" x 12" piece of dp (pictured) measuring 6 3/8" x 4 3/8", ink with Banana Bliss and glue to card. Add vine image piece to bottom with pop dots. Add prills, Stickles and Liquid Pearls to designer paper and images in the same manner as the card front. Stamp sentiment on Solar White with Onyx Black and die cut with Labels 28. Die cut 2 flourishing vines with dark green dp and add all together with sentiment as pictured. Add 2 yellow adhesive pearls.

Happy Anniversary - CottageCutz

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today I have an easel card I made for The Scrapping Cottage using the Swans Die from the CottageCutz Wedding Release, along with the Starburst Flower, Happy, Anniversary, Fancy Lace Border and Greenery Dies.

It's hard to show just one picture of an easel card, so I have a bunch for you!  Here's a view from the front.

Here are views from the side.

Here's the inside.

And finally, a close up of the front.

To make my card, I used cream card stock to create a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" easel card.  (If you're not familiar with easel cards, there is a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers here that you can refer to as a guide.)  I added a black mat to part of the front that is embossed with a polka dot embossing folder and popped it on the base.  I cut the Fancy Lace Border Die twice, once with black and again with LeCreme Designer Paper and added them to the bottom of the mat.  The Swans Die was cut with the cream and added with pop dots. The 2 small flowers from the Starburst Flower Die with also cut with LeCreme DP and added the the Swan.  Two leaves were added to either side of the flowers cut from the Greenery Die using black card stock.

For the inside of the card, I cut the sentiments using black card stock and added them by running them through my Xyron Create-a-sticker Machine.  I then added a piece of black trim and one of the Greenery Dies cut using black card stock.

To finish my card, I added a bow made with Cream Seam Binding and a couple of black pearls.

These are the dies I used on my card.

Card Recipe:

Paper: Cream, LeCreme (DCWV), Black (Recollections)
Accessories: McGill Mat and Tool Kit, Bow-Easy, Cream Seam Binding (Really Reasonable Ribbon), adhesive pearl, Xyron Create-a-sticker Machine, trim (Jo-Anns).

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:
