Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Fairy Cottage Wall Hanging

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for the new release from Heartfelt Creations, the Wildwood Cottage Collection!!! Here is a little write-up for it!

Come away with us and discover the whimsical world of Wildwood Cottage, the newest collection by Heartfelt Creations.  Unleash your imagination and explore magical gardens filled with light and airy florals, chirping birds, fluttering butterflies and of course the playful and enchanting sprites that call these gardens home.  Create your very own captivating fairy garden with this extraordinary collection featuring four beautifully illustrated cling stamp sets and coordinating dies!  Fill your fanciful garden scenes with playful fairies, dimensional garden accents, cheery florals and of course enchanting cottages for the spirited sprites to call home.  The softly hued paper collection is sprinkled with pretty garden shades resembling moss like greens, lilac lavenders, pansy purples and hydrangea blues accented with daisy like yellows, whites and petunia pinks!  Delicate chevrons, ornate floral swirls, along with dainty polka dots and eyelet lace like designs are just a few of the graceful finishes showcased among this decorative paper collection and have been incorporated into heartwarming full page cottage and garden scenes ideal for scrapbook layouts, as well as various sized premade card front panels ideal for quick and easy card bases!  The perfect collection to add a touch of sunshine, and bring smiles to the faces of friends and loved ones during those long winter days!

This is such an adorable collection for little girls! Just love the little house with all the elements to create the perfect cottage scene! For my creation this week, I decided to make a wall hanging with a cute fairy cottage scene.

The base of the wall hanging is a page from a chipboard album I bought at Michaels that I covered with  the Wildwood Cottage Paper Collection. The cottage is cut from white with the Wildwood Cottage Die and embossed with Ditsy Dots Embossing Folder The roof is cut with gray cardstock using the same die set. All the other elements are stamped with black ink, colored with pencils and mineral spirits and die cut with the matching dies. Everything here has a matching die which makes putting these little scene together so much easier!

Here is a little close-up of the fairies.

To add some sparkle, I used Clear Wink of Stella on the fairy's wings and then dusted with Shell White Glitter. I also used Clear Wink of Stella on the flower petals.

Berry Sweet Basket

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little Heartfelt Creations inspiration! This week I have a cute basket made with the Berry Cafe Collection!

I wish pictures would do this justice! The contrast of the red and white with the designer papers is so beautiful in real life! If you click on the photo, you can get a closer view of the basket.

I've had this basket tutorial pinned for quite a while and have been wanting to try this out. I thought it would be perfect with the Berry Cafe Collection of berries and flowers.

Here's a slightly different view of the basket where you can see the inside a little bit.

The base of the basket is made with Ruby Slipper cardstock and decorated with white cardstock and the Berry Cafe Paper Collection. I love this little basket and it really wasn't too hard to put together once I figured out the measurements from metric. These would make really cute gift baskets, especially for Mother's Day coming up!

The tutorial I used can be found here on Wenche Wold's Blog. Thank you Wenche for sharing your tutorial!

Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge #191 - Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown #291 - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by to visit!

HCDP1-265 - Berry Cafe Paper Collection
368770 - Scor-Pal
Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit
159723 - Art Institute Glue - Dries Clear
Other products: Papers: Neenah Solar White, Recollections White, Bazzills Ruby Slipper; Inks: VersaFine Onyx Black, Shabby Shutters Distress; Accessories: Lace, red trim, 1/4" and 1/8" Scor-Tape, Arrow Border Punch (EK Success), ribbon, Scotch Mounting Tape, Bow-Easy Tool, water spritzer

Instructions: Basket measures 4" x 4" and is 8 1/2" high including handle. I used this http://wenchespapirverden.blogspot.com/2013/05/tutorial.html tutorial to make this basket. I converted the measurements from her metric ones to the following: cut Ruby Slipper 12" x 12", score at 4" and 8", turn and repeat scoring. Follow her instructions for cutting the flaps on each side.

Cut the large (12" x 12") designer paper sheet (pictured) as follows: 5 - 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and 2 - 7/8" x 12". Cut the 2 small (6" x 6") designer paper sheets of the same design as follows: 12 - 7/8" x 4 1/8". Ink all edges of designer papers with Shabby Shutters.

Cut white cardstock as follows: 12 - 1 3/4" x 4 1/8" and 1 - 1 3/4" x 12". Punch all long edges of the white pieces with the edge punch on both sides. (Note: the width of these pieces will depend on the edge punch you use as stated in her tutorial. The punch I used needed to be 1 3/4" wide in order to be 1 1/4" wide after punching. You will need to test this out on scrap paper in order to get the fit you want for your edge punch.)

Glue the 5 designer paper squares to the inside of the basket leaving two top, center sides unglued to insert the handles in. Glue the white and designer paper strips together centering them.

Follow the tutorial instructions for adhering the short strips to the outside of the basket sides. Assemble the basket and adhere together using Scor-Tape. Finish adhering the strips on outside of basket per the tutorial. Add handle with Scor-Tape inserting in unglued space between the designer paper and basket side. Add lace and trim on top edge of basket using Scor-Tape. Cut Ruby Slipper cardstock 3/8" wide and add to bottom of basket using 1/8" Scor-Tape to give the basket a finished look on the bottom. Make 2 multi-loop bows with red gingham ribbon and add to base of handle on each side using glues dots.

Stamp Berry Blossom Cling on Solar White with Black Onyx stamping off the color on scrap paper first to get a softer shade of black. Select two small blooms, spritz lightly with water on backs and shape with Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Once dry, add Heart of Gold Prills to centers using Art Institute Glue. Glue to bow centers once dry using glue dots.
