Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Here's my take on the challenge this week...

I used a little bird charm I bought at Michaels and attached it with a chain and jump ring to the bow.  The quote from Mother Teresa is from the Let Us Begin Stamp Set from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Here's a view of the whole set...

Next time, I'd like to use the lotus flower corners so I can do some coloring!  Here's the complete card recipe:

Stamps: Let Us Begin (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Almanac (Prima), Black (Recollections), Iced Cocoa (Coredinations)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Mocha Mama (Powder Puffs), Capers (Bazzills)
Accessories: Detailed Embossing Powder (Stampendous), heat gun, Labels 23 (Spellbinders), rhinestone flourish, silk leaves (Recollections), chain, jump ring, brad, charm (Michaels), flower (RAK from Sabrina), ribbon (Jo-Ann's), distressing tool, Fanciful Flourish (Cheery Lynn).

There's lots more inspiration from my design teammates along with our Guest Designer this month, Katherine Lawson!  Please visit their blogs and get inspired!

Here is my sample for the challenge this week...

For my card, I used Scripture Series 2, verse John 1:16.  I have received so many blessings from God's Grace.  One of the biggest blessings for me is to be able to create things with my hands and share them with others.  My hope is that in doing this, I Glorify God in some way.

I am submitting this to 2 other challenges:

    For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Scripture Series 2 (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Nature Garden (Prima), Always Artichoke (SU), peach (DCWV Stack)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Amaretto (Powder Puff)

For my take on the challenge this week...

I used the Eternity Set for the quote and frame, and the Dreams Set for the bird.  The quote and frame are heat emboss and cut with the matching Elegant Ovals (ODBD's Dies by Spellbinders).  This is a pretty set that you can do lots with.  The bird is fussy cut and added with pop dots.

The paper the quote is on is designer paper from the Mariposa Stack which matches perfect with the Blush Blossom Cardstock.  I think this is one of the first times I've used this cardstock color and I've had it for years!

    For all ingredients used:

    Stamps: Dreams, Eternity (ODBD)
Paper: Mariposa Stack (DCWV), Black, Blush Blossom (SU)
    Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), VersaMark
Accessories: Fanciful Flourish (Cheery Lynn), Foliage Die (Spellbinders), Elegant Ovals Dies (ODBD Custom - Spellbinders), ribbon (Michaels), Trim (Jo-Anns), Classic Lace Flower (Prima), Black & Gold Embossing Powder, adhesive pearls (Recollections)

Please visit the other ladies and their beautiful creations and leave them some "love"!

Here's my take on the challenge this week:

Old: black cardstock scraps; New: stamp set; Gifted: ribbon; Blue: ribbon, panel paper

I used the new Bicycle Stamp Set again for this one, this time using the quote from Abraham Lincoln.  I like how the quote is tall and narrow and thought this was a good sketch for it.  I used some new designer papers for this, Prima's Nature Garden and My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found.  The crochet flower is also from Prima and the gorgeous seam binding is from a RAK from my sweet friend Jill!

Here is my scrapbook page for the challenge this week.

This is a picture of me when I was probaby about 4 years old.  Probably seems silly to scrapbook one of my own photos, but this one has special meaning to me.  It just totally reminds me of my Mom who passed away a few years ago.  I don't remember if she kept it framed on the wall or not, but I think she may have.

The photo was "colorized" so I tried to match the papers and embellishments with it.  I found these beautiful papers at a scrapbook store that I use to go to a long time ago when I did a little scrapbooking.  Things have changed a lot since I made scrapbooks for my boys, so I did the best I could with what I've seen.

I used a new stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs called "Flourished Verses".  It's a pretty set with some basic sentiments that are good to have on hand.

    For ingredients used:

Stamps: Flourished Verses (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Be Happy Be Joyful Paper, Follow Your Heart (My Mind's Eye), darl green, med. green, peach, pink, old pink (no names - from scrapbook store)
Ink: Creamy Caramel (SU), Sweet Blush (Palette), Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Accessories: Adhesive pearls (Recollections), Flowers (RAK, Prima Sugar Blooms Collection), lace, ribbon & trim (scrapbook store), seam binding (Really Reasonable Ribbon), decorative brads & layered stickers (Follow Your Heart - MME), Grand Adhesion Stickers (K&Co), Fanciful Flourish (Cheery Lynn), Classic Petals Edgeabilities, Paisley Impressionablilies, Holly Motifs Shapeabilities, Foliage Shapeabilities, Classic Scalloped Ovals Large, Floral Ovals (Spellbinders)

For some more inspiration this week, check out the other DT ladies and their beautiful creations!

Hope you can join in on the ODBD Challenge this week and try doing some scrapbooking!

I'm also entering this in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #47 for Mother's Day or Feminine theme creations with ribbon that you can find here.

    Everything is Coming Up Daisies!

    Hi there!

It's time for a new challenge at Elphine House Australia!  The new Challenge is to incorporate daisies on your creation!  That shouldn't be too hard to do, where a lot of Elisabeth Bell's stamps have daisies on them and you can use ANY of her stamps not just EHA's!

For the challenge this week, I'm using a new stamp from Elphine House Australia called "Carrie: Three Wheeling"...so adorable!

She has such a sweet face! Her tricycle reminds me of when my boys were little!    I colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits to match these beautiful Eva papers from Basic Grey.

    For all ingredients used:

Stamp: Carrie: Three Wheeling (Elphine House Australia)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Brocade (Bazzills), White card base (Georgia Pacific), Eva Designer Papers (Basic Grey), Certainly Celery (SU)

If you've come here from SANDEE'S Blog, you are in the right place, if not you may want to start back at the ODBD Blog so you don't miss any of the beautiful creations along the way!!!

I chose ODBD's Flower Border Stamp to make my card.  This makes a beautiful frame for Bible Verses, sentiments, and quotes.  The coloring of the flowers on it is really quick and easy to do.

This stamp matches the Spellbinders Labels 18 Dies which ODBD has in their Shop.

For my card, I made a 4 1/4" easel card in white.  I embossed the Black Iris paper with an embossing folder for the background.  I stamped the Floral Frame and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils.  I cut the frame using Labels 18 and then the center with Classic Ovals Nestibilities to create a frame.  I stamped the sentiment using the Sentiments Collection from ODBD and cut it with the Classic Ovals (one size larger than the frame opening).

For the inside of the card, I stamped part of the border on one side and cut it with Labels 18 using a smaller die, colored it to match the front, and popped it up on foam dots.

    For ingredients used:

Stamps: Flower Border, Sentiments Collection (ODBD)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), White (Papertrey Ink), Black Iris (Coredinations), Old Olive (SU), The Preppy Princess Stack (DCWV)
    Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Accessories: Labels 18, Classic Ovals (Spellbinders), Fanciful Flourish (Cheery Lynn), Branches with Leaves and Flowers Embossing Folder (Spellbinders), flower (Recollections), ribbon (Michaels), Bow-Easy, adhesive pearls (Recollections), charm (Michaels)

Now you need to go to the sweet, talented GRACE!!!
    Enjoy the HOP!

If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC104. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge this week, a center step card.  I used the tutorial from Split Coast Stampers which you can find here

I used this beautiful new stamp called "Prayer of St. Francis".    I love the words to this and the pretty font that's used.  You really don't need to add much to this to make a card.  I think this would be really nice to put in a decorated frame for a gift...which I think I may do!

Here's a close-up of the bow with that gorgeous silk ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I'm already almost out of this and will definitely need to get more and maybe check some other colors.  Under the bow is black lace that I cut two sections apart and placed together to look like a butterfly.  I thought it looked pretty neat and only used a tiny bit of the lace!

Here's a picture of the inside, I cut out one of the butterflies on the designer paper, curled it a little, and glued it down to just add a little something.

For my SPRING ingredients, I used:

    S-Silk, P-Prayer, R-Rhinestones, I-Ink, N-New Stamp, G-Green

    For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Prayer of St. Francis (ODBD)
Paper: Gabrielle Collection (Bo Bunny), Black (Stampin' Up), Natural White (Neenah), gold (DCWV Stack)

I'm also entering this into two other challenges, the latest challenge at Word Art Wednesday Challenge #23 which you can find here.  This is the verse given for you to use if you choose.  What a beautiful verse and message this is.

Also, the latest challenge at Stampin' Sister's in Christ,  Challenge #134, which you can find here.  The challenge is to make a joy-ful card, something celebratory! This is the verse given to us.

    SCRIPTURE:
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:2-3

I'd also like to thank all of you that voted for me at Heartfelt Creations for their Design Team Contest.  Yesterday was the last day to vote, and I submitted my projects to them.  Now I just need to wait and see!  Thank you for supporting me!

That's it for today! Hope to see you join in on the SPRING Challenge!

    Blessings!

Here is my card for the challenge! It's hard to pick just one stamp set (I love them all), but this one has been on my mind lately. I love this quote! I decided to make a slider card using the Fleur de Lis Shapeabilities Pendants Die. It's small and delicate, but I like the way it came out!   I love these violet blue colors too!  I think I'm just going to keep it at my craft desk for a pretty reminder of God's Love.

    For ingredients used:

Stamps: God's Love (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Almost Amethyst, Pear Pizzazz (Stsmpin' Up), Solar White (Neenah)
Ink: Onyx Black(VersaFine), Almost Amethyst (Stampin' Up)
Accessories: Sponge, ribbon (Michaels' Celebrate It), piercer, flower(Recollections), charm(RAK from Sabrina), brad, adhesive pearls(Recollections), burst punch (Fiskers), Frond punch (Martha Stewart), Fanciful Flourish (Cheery Lynn Designs), Spellbinders' Dies: Labels One, Fleur de Lis Shapeabilities Pendant, Parisian Accents, Floral Ovals

I'm also submitting this the to latest Stampin' Sister's in Christ Challenge #132 .  Here is the Bible Verse.

    SCRIPTURE:
Romans 8:31b-32 "If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him?”

    CHALLENGE:
create a card or project that uses everything! The opposite of a CAS - toss on the embellishments and/or different papers, textures.

I can't do CAS anyway, so this one is EASY!!!

That's it for now! I hope to see you join in the challenge! There's lots of beautiful ODBD stamp sets to choose from!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Blessings!
