Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Sweet Lullaby Brag Book

Hi there!

Today I have a "brag book" to show you that I made for one of my neighbors that recently had a baby.  These books are so easy to put together and make a nice gift.

To decorate the book I used Heartfelt Creations stamps, designer papers and dies from the Sweet Lullaby Collection. The baby shoe image was colored with pencils and mineral spirits and die cut with Decorative Labels 22 Die.

Here is the inside of the book which contains 8 - A2 clear envelopes that you can put pictures in. I also included a blank Labels 22 die cut that can be written on.

To package this up for gift giving, I used an 8 11/16" x 11 14/16" clear envelope and cut it down to fit. (I normally use a 6 1/8" x 8 1/2" clear seamed envelope, but I was all out.) I then created a "sticker" with a sentiment and my Create-A-Sticker Machine.

You can see full instructions for this at the end of my post. Hope you like my little brag book project and it inspire you!

I'm submitting this to the following challenge:

Instructions: Brag book measures 4 3/4" x 7 1/4". Follow instructions for Clear Envelope Brag Book on Split Coast Stampers here. Use Baby Blue cardstock for back/spine and front of book. (I included 8 clear envelopes in this book.) Create mats for the front and inside of book by cutting Sweet Lullaby papers to fit, inking edges with Sea Breeze and gluing down. Die cut Labels 22 with yellow cardstock and glue to inside of book. Die cut Labels 22 with Baby Blue cardstock and adhere to front of book with Scotch Mounting Tape.

Stamp baby shoe image from Sweet Dreams Cling Set on Solar White with Onyx Black Ink. Color with pencils and mineral spirits using paper stumps. Die cut image with Decorative Labels 22 and add to front with Scotch Mounting Tape.

Use Crop-A-Dile Tool to punch 2 holes for binding as pictured, add fibers or ribbon and tie in a knot or bow. Make a small multi-loop bow with fibers and add to top right with glue dots. Add heart button to bow with glue dots. Add Buttercup Liquid Pearls to flower centers on image.

For gift packaging, I used an 8 11/16" x 11 15/16" clear bag and cut off the top extra. (Normally I use 6 1/8" x 8 1/2" clear bags for these, but I was all out and had to make do with a larger bag by cutting it down.) To close the bag I created a sentiment "sticker" by stamping the Sweet Lullaby Sentiments on yellow cardstock with VersaMark Ink, heat embossing with White Embossing Powder and die cutting with matching Once Upon a Time Die. Select the "Congratulations" sentiment and create a "sticker" by running it through the Xyron Create-A-Sticker Machine. Add to back of packaging to close.

Rugged Baby Boy Clothes - CottageCutz

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a cute little boy card for you using the Rugged Baby Boy Clothes CottageCutz Die from The Scrapping Cottage!

I cut the jeans part of the die using a dark blue card stock and used a bright green plaid designer paper for the shirts.  I also cute the pocket and belt of the jeans with the green plaid, trimmed them and glued them to the jeans.  I love these two colors together against the white.  It's so cheery looking and cute for a boy!

The card base is the same dark blue as the jeans with a bright green mat and then a white mat that I embossed and stamped with a sentiment.  I embellished the card with some blue ribbon, baby rick rack, jute twine and heart buttons all in matching colors.

This is the CottageCutz Die I used:

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Warm Words (SU)
Paper: White (Recollections), Nana's Nursery Baby Boy - DCWV), Chipped Saphire Distressed, BM Wizard (Coredinations)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Green with Envy, Blue Moon (PowderPuffs - Quick Quotes)
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder (SU), blue ribbon (Offray), green Baby Rick Rack (Wrights), Bow-Easy Tool, Royal Blue Jute String (Really Reasonable Ribbon)

Baby Hippo - CottageCutz

Happy Saturday!

It's time for me to share a little inspiration using a couple of the fun CottageCutz Dies from The Scrapping Cottage!  This time I'm using Baby Hippo from the new Baby Release and Round Mini Balloons Dies!

Isn't this little guy too cute?  I love the little teeth sticking out!  Here's a little close up for you!

The card base is made with Going Gray card stock.  The white mat was stamped with the sentiment, I then added the blue designer paper that was embossed with a folder to the top portion and then some repurposed ribbon across.  The Baby Hippo and balloons were cut using white, plum, and Going Gray card stocks and assembled together inking the edges of the hippo with Gray Flannel Ink.  I used a black marker and white gel pen for the eyes.  All the pieces were added using pop dots. I then added buttons and fiber bows.

These are the dies I used:

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Pun Fun (SU)
Paper: White, Fashionably Chic (Recollections), Going Gray (SU), plum (DCWV Stack)
Ink:  Onyx Black (VersaFine), Gray Flannel (Memento)
Accessories: Fibers, buttons, recycled twill ribbon, Bow-Easy, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (SU), black marker, white gel pen, pop dots, glue dots.

Welcome Baby - CottageCutz

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a “Welcome Baby” card for you using 2 new CottageCutz Dies from The Scrapping Cottage, Baby Lion and Baby Giraffe.

Aren't these little guys cute?  Here's a little close up of them.

I used various scraps of yellow, tan, gold and cream card stock to cut these and inked the edges with Creamy Cocoa Chalk Ink (PowderPuffs - Quick Quotes).  The eyes were colored with a black marker and dotted with a white gel pen.

To make my card, I started with a white card base.  I cut a yellow mat and stamped the sentiment on the bottom right corner, cut a smaller mat to fit the top using a plaid designer paper that I embossed with an embossing folder, then glued the mats together.  The baby animals were added using glue and pop dots under their heads.  I wrapped some trim across the mats and added it to the card base with pop dots.  I finished this off with adhesive pearls and a bow with a button.

These are the dies I used:

Card recipe:

Stamps: Short & Sweet (SU)
Paper: White (Recollections),  yellow (DCWV Stack), Itsy Bitsy Baby Boy Designer Paper (K & Co.), scraps of yellow, tan, gold, cream.

For my card this week, I used the Sweet Little One and Sweet Lullaby Sentiments Sets.

I just love this adorable image!  I colored it with pencils and mineral spirits to match these beautiful Sweet Lullaby designer papers.  I stamped the sentiment just below the image so that they would both fit in the “frame”.  The “frame” was created by using one of the card fronts in the paper collection and cutting out the center.  I love these card fronts, there's lots you can do with them!

The medallion was made with the Sweet Lullaby Sentiments on cream card stock and white embossing powder and inking the top piece with the “Sweet” sentiment on it.

Here's a close up of the image and medallion for you.

There's lot of gorgeous projects on the HC Blog this week!  Be sure to visit and leave a comment for a chance to win the collection!

Baby Congratulations

Hi everyone!

I'm back again today with another card using CottageCutz Dies from the Scrapping Cottage.  This time I have a congratulations card for a new baby using the Christening Gown and Clothes Hanger Mini Dies.

I decide to make a cream on cream card using Natural White card stock from Neenah for all the card pieces.  The die cut pieces and mat were inked with Wheat (VersaMagic) and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  The mat was embossed with the Rosa border embossing folder and the sentiment (Well Scripted - Stampin' Up) was stamped with Vintage Photo Ink.  I wrapped some pretty trim (Jo-Ann's) around the card and added a bow using Havana Brown Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon and my Bow-Easy Tool.

The mini hanger was glued to the back of the dress and the dress was added to the card using pop dots.   I also add the bonnet to the dress using pop dots.  Here's a little close up of the pretty dress and bonnet.

To finish my, card I added some adhesive pearls and a flower button with a fiber bow in it.  Very simple card to make and I love the vintage feel to it!

These are the dies I used:

Card recipe:

Stamps: Well Scripted (SU)
Paper: Natural White (Neenah)
Ink: Wheat (VersaMagic), Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Rosa Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Havana Brown Seam Binding (Really Reasonble Ribbon), Bow-Easy, lace trim (Jo-Ann's), fiber, button, adhesive pearls (Recollections), McGill Tool Kit & Mat
